We had never been to Derbyshire's Yeldersley Hall before but, having heard only good things from fellow suppliers, it certainly had a lot to live up to. The owner, a really friendly and personable guy, was around to say hello and to welcome us to his 'home'. He stuck around throughout the evening (taking pictures and getting involved) and he was even there right at the end of the night, chatting to Dan and Jaydene about how their day had been!
The bride and groom had originally seen The Souljers perform at the Wedding Event With A Difference and, as it turns out, the lovely Tara from Tickety Boo Events had been there too. Although our paths hadn't crossed that day, it was fabulous to see Tara at work and, according to the groom, Dan, she had surpassed their expectations and had even added lots of finishing touches to the décor on the day itself. It's so important to have someone around with an eye on these things and they clearly appreciated the effort that she'd made. The whole venue looked stunning and, along with their theme, it felt like an English meadow; flowers, ladders, bikes - they certainly had the English garden vibe!
Dan and Jaydene booked us for their wedding entertainment quite some time ago and, right from the start, we knew that they would have some original and quirky aspects to their big day. As a couple, they are particularly into indie music and, as regular festival goers, this gave them a fabulous theme to play with!
As for the guests, we had SO much fun performing for these guys; they were ready to party right from the off and, as soon as the first dance (The Courteneers) began, they were singing and dancing along! I'd question the sanity of one or two of those on the dance floor, but that ll makes for a great night ;)
As for us, we got into the spirit of things too! As well as our usual live sets, we added a couple of indie songs to the end of our second set in order to complete the theme. Of course, the extra two songs meant extra energy and so Dan gratefully accepted the offer of afternoon tea! He looks quite pleased with himself, doesn't he?
We really hope to return to Yeldersley in the near future; we had a fantastic evening and we look forward to seeing the official photographs once Dan and Jaydene return from Venice.
Congratulations guys :) xxx
