Having A Ball at Ruddington Grange in Nottingham

Saturday March 31st saw Adam Thomas joined on stage by both his dancers AND his Souljers for a special Ladies Night held at Ruddington Grange in Nottingham.

The organisers had attended both the Snow Ball 2011 and the Hilton Hotel's New Year's Eve party, both of which featured Adam Thomas as their headline entertainment. Having seen both of these live performances, they arranged to have Adam joined by both his dancers and The Souljers for their own event!

Because we Can-Can!

Their guests were treated to a showstopping Can Can as soon as they had taken their seats: definitely one way of kicking the evening's entertainment off!

Following their meal, Adam Thomas performed a first set of swing and big band music (along with his female dancers) and had the audience swaying and singing along to classics such as Come Fly With Me, Save The Last Dance and Sway!

Welcome to the stage...

After a short break Adam returned to the stage but, this time, he was joined by his Souljers for a set of pop, soul and Motown numbers! Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Soul Man, Message To Rudy, Shake A Tail Feather: you name it, they covered it!

The organisers were delighted with the evening's entertainment and forwarded the following to the office shortly afterwards:

"Can you please pass on a huge thank you to the whole team for making Saturday such a brilliant night. The compliments have been coming in thick and fast. I suspect the lodge will never top it as Ladies Night’s go. Apparently we really broke the mould !!!! Truly money well spent. Still on a come down from the high on the night.

Will do our best to see you at the SnowBall and/or New Year’s Eve."

We're so thrilled that they enjoyed themselves so much and that the feedback that they received was so great: it makes what we do even more worthwhile (especially when they have seen so many of our shows already!) we also received an enquiry from the venue themselves the following day... They'd loved it too :)

We hope to perform there again very soon... We had a ball!!

A Glorious Day at the truly stunning Coombe Abbey

On what really felt like the first day of Spring, we turned into Coombe Abbey in Coventry to see hundreds of locals out and about enjoying the sunshine and magnificent gardens. They were unaware, of course, that within the walls of this majestic building Helen Walton and Kevin Lancaster had tied the knot and were feasting on their wedding breakfast amongst family and friends!

Although this was not our first time at Coombe Abbey in the East Midlands, it was our first time performing in the Courtyard Suite there: a lovely, private little area which looked stunning decked out with candelabras, tea lights and flowers!

Helen and Kevin had attended the Hilton Hotel (near East Midlands Airport) for their New Year's Eve event last December and had decided then and there that Adam Thomas would sing at their wedding! Almost three months later he did just that and, joined by The Souljers for act two as well, the Courtyard Suite rocked to anthems such as 'Dance With Me Tonight' (Olly Murs), 'Save The Last Dance' and 'My Girl'.

We really loved the atmosphere, the best man's speech (well done Gavin!!) and, of course, the lovely newleyweds themselves. It's always a pleasure to provide wedding entertainment for such lovely people...

We're so pleased to have been a part of such a special day for them both and wish them lots and lots of luck for the future... They deserve it! Congratulations Mr and Mrs Lancaster :) x x x

Coombe Abbey...

Coombe Abbey was founded in 1150 AD by Cistercian Monks, then known as the Abbey of Cumbe. It has an illustrious past; Dissolution by King Henry VIII, Private residency to royalty, involvement in the infamous Gunpowder Plot to name but a few

With incredible history and a fairytale setting, Coombe Abbey Hotel is the perfect venue for your Wedding Day.

Comhghairdeas! (Congratulations in Irish!!)

If you have an Irish connection in the family, when better to tie the knot than St Patrick's Day? Well, on March 17th, Katie and Stephen decided to really run with the Irish theme and go the whole 'Paddy' hog!

In a marquee in Warwickshire, whilst England were beating Ireland at rugby (oops :)!) the bride and groom threw a céilidh for their friends and families and celebrated St Paddy's Day in style: from the bride's emerald shoes to the traditional folk band playing throughout the meal, no (Blarney) stone had been left unturned!

The evening kicked off with Adam performing Michael Buble's hit 'Everything' (a very popular first dance song as the words are just so apt for weddings). The guests were so warm and friendly and immediately took to the floor for Adam's first set (with the longest kick line I've ever seen for 'New York, New York'!)

With the ladies cooing over Adam ("oh, we though it was a cd in the first dance", "oh, I love your shoes" etc) the Souljers were secretly warming up to join him for a killer second set :)

Setting the place on fire (it was certainly hot enough), Adam, Tom and I bounded about like toddlers for 45 minutes: even performed our own special version of 'Barbie Girl' for the groom Stephen!

The disco was an eclectic mix of 90s dance, Irish classics, current chart tunes and a ton of requests from their guests :)

We really hope that the hangovers on Sunday were only as bad as any other March 18th for these hardcore partygoers! We wish you all the luck in the world and can't wait to see the hundreds of pics that were taken... Congratulations Katie & Stephen! x x x

One Snowy Friday in February...

Last night's wedding took place at the Macdonald Ansty Hall in Coventry - a beautiful venue that we perform at a lot and really, really love. With a sprinkling of snow and lots of lovely guests, Lori and James had their perfect wintery wedding :)

Their Personalised Photo Frame

The evening reception took place in the Orangery and the happy couple were so excited about the live shows... a chance to finally let their hair down! Lori had initially wanted to surprise James by booking Adam Thomas and the Souljers but, eventually, she gave in and told him anyway!

Lori's beautiful bridal bouquet

The scene was set for a fantastic evening and, a little after 8pm, their guests gathered around the edge of the dancefloor for the final formality of the day: the first dance!

A first dance to Sigur Ros

They had an enchanting and very unique first dance choice (Sigur Ros - Hoppipolla) which really created a lovely mood for the beginning of the first live set as well.

Adam kicks off the first set of live entertainment

Act 1 saw their guests singing along to That's Amore, dancing to Save The Last Dance and high-kicking to New York, New York... in fact, even the bride joined the kick line!

After tucking in to the buffet, guests were treated to a second live set by Adam Thomas and the Souljers: particular favourites seemed to be Brown Eyed Girl, This Love and floor-filler Kissed A Girl.

During the first live set, Adam had gained a special little fan...

Adam and his side kick!...

and , whilst we rocked the Orangery with the second set, he became a mini Souljer! This little dude copied every move we did and even got to wear Adam's glasses and Tom's hat!

Adam and Mini Me!

After a bit of 90's dance music and a chance for the male guests to show off their dance skills, the groom finally got his Madness fix and a jump around!

I'm guessing that Lori, James and their entourage are just as shattered as we are this morning... the only difference is that the lucky couple are jetting off to Paris as we speak! It's alright for some! :)

Pop over to our Facebook Fan page for more pictures of their big day too (and don't forget to press 'like' whilst you're there!)

Finally, we want to wish you both all of the luck in the world: have a great honeymoon and a great future together :) x x x
